Glamping in Joshua Tree: Guide

Glamorous camping, otherwise known as glamping, is when people camp with additional luxuries often found in homes. To some, glamping can be as simple as putting air mattresses in a tent, for others clamping could be staying in a luxury tent with a real bed, string lights, a stove, and much more.

There are multiple different options if you are looking to glamp in Joshua Tree. This list will cover the best six Joshua Tree glamping options. While you can set up a glamping site on your own, this list covers places for rent in Joshua Tree National Park. The six best clamping spots in Joshua Tree include sites that are vacation homes as well as sites that closely resemble camp sites.

Why Glamp in Joshua Tree?

Joshua Tree National Park is a great place to hike, bike, camp, glamp and more. If you want to spend a great weekend in Joshua Tree National Park but camping isn’t for you, glamping is a great choice. Glamping provides more comfort than normal camping while still allowing you to immerse yourself in nature. You will find many unique glamping options in Joshua Tree National Park, each offering luxuries you couldn’t find at a normal campsite.

The Best Joshua Tree Glamping Options

Castle House Estates covers 12 beautiful acres in Joshua Tree. Castle House Estates was shown on HGTV and has gained popularity for the medieval twist on the glamping sites they offer. Sites at The Castle House Estate offer room service, pool access, private bathrooms and more.

The Desert Dome will make for a very unique glamping experience. The dome has 360 degree shades that can be closed for privacy or opened for a beautiful view of Joshua Tree in every direction. This glamping site also offers a patio with chairs and a fire pit. This option is perfect for people who want to immerse themselves in nature without leaving comfort and luxury at home.

This amazing glamping option is a renovated shipping container and is perfect for two people who want to get away for the weekend. This site is two stories and includes two sinks, wifi, a television, a microwave and a mini refrigerator. These amenities make for a unique experience providing the comfort of a home while still allowing you to enjoy the outdoors.

Yurts are a great option for those who want more space than a tent can provide. This specific site offers authentic Mongolian Yurts. A group of four people can comfortably fit in this spacious glamping option. The yurt has a queen bed as well as a foam floor mattress that can turn into a chair. Each yurt also has a heated shower, a sink, a collapsable toilet, solar lights, rugs and unique furniture fitting the style of the yurt. The yurts also include USB charging ports to keep your devices working “off the grid”.

While the Raven House is closer to an actual house, it is still a great option for those looking to spend their nights in Joshua Tree in comfort. The raven house is a small cabin in Joshua Tree that provides the luxuries of a home in the desert. This cabin provides air conditioning, wifi, a hot tub, a shower, a private bathroom and more.

While this location is a vacation home, I decided to include it as it is located in the desert and is immersed in nature. This home has a modern interior that includes three bedrooms, a television,  and a full kitchen. This rental is equipped with wifi, air conditioning, a grill and a bathtub. This house is perfect for families that want to spend time near nature while enjoying the luxuries of a modern home. With this location you get all the amenities of a normal vacation home, however, once you step outside, you are surrounded by the beautiful desert landscape.

The Bottom Line

At the end of the day, different people prefer different luxuries in their glamping sites. If none of the camp sites on this list peak your interest, you always have the option to create your own glamping site. Spend some time planning out what you want out of a glamping experience and build one with friends or family.
